David J Cohen, MD

Dr. David J. Cohen is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta where he received his Board Certification in Dermatology. While attending Emory he served as Chief Resident and held a position on the Medical Education Advisory Committee. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He serves as Chief of Dermatology and Assistant Clinical Professor at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon.

Dr. Cohen is a partner at Skin Care Physicians of Georgia where he specializes in difficult skin conditions including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, pyoderma gangrenosum, epidermodysplasis verruciformis, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.

Dr. Cohen also performs surgical procedures including excisions and MOHS repairs and performs cosmetic procedures including sclerotherapy, Botox, Juvederm and Sculptra. He has extensive training in treating psoriasis patients with biologic therapy, ultraviolet light therapy and systemic treatments. Dr. Cohen completes in-hospital consults at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and the Coliseum Hospital

Dr. Cohen has extensive lecture experience for education purposes including Grand Rounds, Resident Teaching and Continuing Medical Education. He has published numerous articles on topics of dermatology. He serves as President of the Middle Georgia Journal Club and is a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation. He also serves as the Principal Investigator in over 30 Clinical Trials.
