At Skin Care Physicians of Georgia, we provide comprehensive dermatological care to our patients. Our goal is to help each of our patients achieve healthy and confident skin. The most common dermatologic conditions we evaluate and treat include, but NOT limited to:

Acne is a skin condition that can affect the face, the upper chest, and the back, most commonly during adolescence. In some cases, acne can persist into adulthood. Many factors contribute to acne including genetics, stress, diet and hormones. The condition causes inflamed red bumps, whiteheads, blackheads, and cysts commonly referred to as pimples or zits, to erupt on the surface of the skin. Early treatment of acne is important to prevent scarring of the skin. In some stubborn cases, your physician may recommend prescription topical and oral medications and we offer a variety of aesthetic treatments.

Also known as Hair Loss, Alopecia is an auto-immune disease that attacks hair follicles. When this happens, the person’s hair begins to fall out, often in clumps. There is no cure for alopecia, but we can offer several treatments to support hair growth in early detection.

Atopic Dermatitis, also commonly known as Eczema is a skin condition that causes inflammation and chronic itch. It is most commonly diagnosed in children, and in most cases  the condition decreases or completely goes away as the child ages. In some cases, the condition will persist through Adulthood. We offer topicals, biologics, light therapies, and clinical trials as treatment options.

Cold Sores, also called fever blisters are a common viral infection. They are tiny, fluid-filled blisters on and around your lips. These blisters are often grouped together in patches. After the blisters break, a scab forms that can last several days. We offer topical and oral treatments.

Dandruff is a common condition that causes the skin on the scalp to flake. Mild dandruff can be treated with a gentle daily shampoo. If that doesn’t work, a medicated shampoo may help.
Hives are itchy, raised welts that are found on the skin. They are usually red, pink, or flesh-colored, and sometimes they sting or hurt. In most cases, hives are caused by an allergic reaction to a medication or food or a reaction to an irritant in the environment

Hyperhidrosis/Excessive Sweating is excessive sweating that’s not necessarily related to heat or exercise. You may sweat so much that it soaks through your clothes or drips off your hands. Heat and emotions may trigger hyperhidrosis in some, but many who suffer from hyperhidrosis sweat nearly all their waking hours, regardless of their mood or the weather.

Keloids are a type of raised scar. They occur where the skin has healed after an injury. They can grow to be much larger than the original injury that caused the scar. Anything that can cause a scar can cause a keloid.
Moles are usually brown or black and can be located anywhere on the body. They can be up singular or in groups and generally appear before adulthood. Over time some moles may change in appearance. For example, from flat to raised, grow hair, or change color. It is important to get a skin check once a year by a board-certified dermatologist. Early detection can save lives. Dermatologists recommend that patients use the ABCDE system for checking your moles.
Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes red, itchy scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp. It tends to go through cycles, flaring for a few weeks or months, then subsiding for a while or going into remission.
Nail Fungus causing thickened, brittle, or crumbly nails. You will notice changes in the appearance of nails, and in some cases it may cause pain or have a foul odor.
Rashes is a common skin condition that affects the texture or color of your skin. Your skin may become scaly, bumpy, or itchy. There are many different causes for rashes and we offer a variety of treatments.
Rosacea is a condition that causes redness and it often is paired with small, red, pus filled bumps that appear on the face.
Scars are growths of tissue marking the spot where skin has healed after an injury.
Skin Cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells, and is the most common type of cancer. There are many types of skin cancer, but the most common are Basal and Squamous cell Carcinomas and Melanoma. Early detection saves lives. We recommend having a skin cancer screening once a year.
Skin Tags are a common skin growth. They are usually harmless and painless, although they may become irritated from rubbing against clothing.
Staph also called staphylococcus infection is an infection caused by the bacteria commonly found on the skin or even in the nose. In some cases, the infection may become life-threatening if the bacteria enters the bloodstream.
